Thanks guys! Trish, you are too sweet to me. Steve, your comment is the biggest compliment I could get. It is what I strive for. David, you know you are right! I actually shot this at 5.6, but out of instinct put down 2.8. I have been learning the hard way that WIDE is not always best. He still looks a little out of focus, though.
Thanks for the comments! Trish

Cheryl, as usual you have yourself a lovely image. But this one is different. Who is that model? She is so lovely...so....so...mysterious. I must know who she is!!!! I must meet her! I am so intrigued. LOL!

WOW! Thanks again! Luisa, I replied to your link
Harry, I specifically went to this site because I liked the craggy cement. However you are right about it being a little distracting. I think I needed a more shallow DOF, or or a much sharper one to show the background. I am really into textures, thus her dress. LOVE'em, but I am still learning how to work with them in an effective way. Thanks for your critique.
Mary, you are right about her hair and her dress. Unfortunatly I cropped it in the camera. You really don't want to hear my answer on the 10D question. I hate the focus issues it has and am still learning to over compensate for them. Ask me in 6 months and maybe I'll be a little happier.
Thanks again, so much for the warm welcome. BTW, what is "featrued critique"? on the main page. I'm on it, but can't figure out what it means.

I like this. I like your DOF, and your location. The lighting and exposure look right on. I also like that she is a tad older for a model. I wish there was more detail in her face. Regardless, nice!

IMO, there is nothing better than a child near a window when you've got a camera in your hand. NICE one!

I love this. I am crazy and in love with the background and the expression on her face. I love tilted faces on kids. If I were shooting her, I would take her shoes off (maybe even the shirt underneath her dress. More skin is better. Also on my screen it looks a little soft, but not soft enough to eliminate.
Great capture!!!!! Thanks for sharing! Trish

Wow, Thanks guys. The girl is my daughter, so of course I think she is pretty cute myself, LOL. I like to get a lot of "peeks" from my subjects. I am pretty good at convincing them that Elmo is inside the lens or even better, that there is a fairy underneath the camera.
Tim, the angle lines that you are speaking of is an example of many things that I just don't SEE. Thanks for pointing it out I am still learning all of the details that make one's work much better.
Pat, right back at ya, sister!
Thanks again!!! Trish
