Nice picture. I tried shooting chess boards several times myself, but never managed to come up with anything worthwhile ... wide or long lens lens? aperture? lighting? angle? lighting? cannot figure it out.

Well ... I for one like the DOF in this image. Even with a larger DOF this would still be a nice picture, but am I mistaken in thinking that this comes very close to how the human eye functions? Composition and expression are great in my opinion.

Ah, a 'Nathan' post again, always an event. Your pictures are more appealing to me than macro's of flowers and stuff. Strap does not bother me at all. Like the DOF. Very fine picture.

Wonderful image ... dream-like. The tilting contributes to that. Bit of cropping on the left side wouldn't hurt. Could make an excellent book- or cd-cover.
