Hello Daniel. I like your concept and how you angled and composed this picture. It's a very tricky situation because of the high contrast between the interior and exterior. But you've managed to show the sign correctly, only need to sharpen a little, and I suggest to dodge the interior a little bit, just to give more space and perspective. Thank you for your wonderful comment on my photo.. Hanggan

Nice structure and I like the angle of your cropping. The sky is lacking color and creates a hole effect as it blends into the white background... possbily a border around it would help the image from melting off the page. These covered bridges are great subjects. It is also an interesting feature that this old structure is laced with very new signs.

This is our first, but hopefully not last meeting on the pages of "Usefilm", Mr. Walker. I read you bio and looked through your entire portfolio. As to your bio, I know the feeling and empathize with it, not just because my profession (psychoanalyst, as you can see if and when you read my bio) but as an amateur photographer as well. As to your portfolio, going through it was easy, because there were not too many photos and difficult, because so many of the photos where good. I vascilated between this photo and your radio-active lady, because both showed a highly developed sense of humor and finally settled on this one bacause besides being funny, it is also relatively simple and simplicity, I've been told more than once, is one of the secrets of beauty in art. You are, of course, invited to read my bio and pay further vistis to my portfolio. In the meantime I thank you for your kind words about my "Maya and her world" Best regards, Dr. Rafael (Rafi for future communications) Springmann

Hello again Michael, here is the cropped version of that picture again. I used Kai's Photo Soap to crop and enhance. The image is a bit blurry, but as I had meantioned prior I was taking the picture hand-held and driving on the same icy road at the time. :-)

Strong vechicle - the frame is not even bent from tumbling. How does one flip a truck like that anyway?
Bit of excitement - could use some exposure correction maybe to bring out the lightness.
If you have a PC google has a free program called Picasa 2 which can make some simple corrections. Or use PS like me.
Also cropped to put cop car on the 1/4 and emphasize the truck.

Thanks for the comment Micheal. Actually it was because of viewing your picture that I saw my image in a corner of the orgional shot. I will post the entire shot tomorrow for you to see. I was trying to get a picture of a pick-up truck that had flipped on its' roof as I passed at 20 MPH...and attempted it handheld. So whn I post it you can get a nice look at the interior of my (very dirty & messy) minivan!!!

Facinating. Perhaps I was lucky to shoot the compliment, at least in the title and camera.

I like your version - it has a photojournalism and motion picture feel to it with more grit than usual.

Thanks for the comment Dave....but I also had to worry about having my fingers freeze off that day, I think it was lkie -25 C plus a bit of wind! I know that must almost seem like spring to you out there on the prairies, but we in Atlantic Canada have alot more dampness that chills us to the bone to worry about. :-)
P.S. Keep shooting, keep submitting pictures! Canada is too beautiful to keep bottled up.

Great subject to shot, Sadly i moved away from NB it was such a great backdrop for photos. The covered bridge you asked me about is on the way to Hampton, they just built a concrete bridge right next to it. Your picture reminds me of the old 2 lane highway to sussex from hampton, Thanks for the memories. Great Shot. -mike
