Oh, what did you mean by "port"?

Thanks, Jacob. I really like these types of shots. I've been really involved in other activities lately (school and such...). Hope to post more shots soon.

My problem is that I have a really bright monitor on my laptop and it usually tends to look dark on other machines... When I go brighter, I tend to go too bright... D'oh!

I REALLY like how you've arranged these shots, Robert. The asymmetry and textures really draw the eyes to your shot and draw them around the piece. Great work.

That's just neat that we came to the same result entirely on our own. We're so awesome.

Excellent shot, Keith. Amazing tones, as always. I love this angel.

How do you get such crisp shots? Do you sharpen them a bit or what? They seem unusually crisp even for a tripod shot.

Excellent tones and details in this shot, Kevin. Such a soft and beautiful shot. Very striking model, as well. Great work. Am looking through your other photos now.

This is so strange - it looks EXACTLY like a photo I took over a year ago.

Great minds think alike, right?

I was practically jumping up and down after I noticed the SC award. I was checking to see what sort of comments I had received on it since I had received a good number of views and was like "WHOA!" and then a whole bunch of weird stuff that was probably incoherent ramblings that made me look crazy... Thanks for the support!

Yeah? Well that's all your fault. You don't know how long it took me to crop this shot just right, thinking all about thirds and "is that close enough?", "is that really a good alignment?", "should I try to recrop it?"... All because of YOU. ...so thanks!

Seriously though, your comments are among the most useful comments I ever get. They actually give me feedback on what to improve and I highly value that. It's too bad I don't know more about photography in terms of rules, etc. I could be a lot more useful.

Thanks, Jacob. I have another shot to go with this one that shows after the waterfight. I'll probably post that tomorrow or next week.

Thanks, James.

At first I cloned the red fromt he hose but it was too red. I then did it by hand and made it more orange to get sort of an average of the colors in the shot.

30 stitched together? Wow. I was wondering if you used an autostitch - I rembember you and some friends were using PS for better results and was wondering if you always do that. I would think that would become unmanageable with 30+ shots in PS just due to the visual size of the beastly image.

I used Photostitch (came with the EOS 350D) for my panoramic shots. What computer are you using? I've got an HP laptop with a 128M DDR Vid Card, 512MB DDR RAM, dual 80 GB HDD, and a lightning fast AMD 64bit in it.

WOW. This shot is fantastic. I love the mood of this shot. I especially love the tones and all of the brilliant pinks and purples. This is certainly a shot I would pay for. Excellent work. I love this shot. Incredible.

19 photo composite? You trying to show me up or what? Dude, you're freakin' crazy. A 365 degree shot? Dang. How long did that take to stitch together? Excellent shot. I don't think I would have cared for a regular shot of this area, but the panorama is quite neat. Great work.

Did you follow this little guy around? This is another very incredible shot, Todd. DoF is completely perfect. Colors, tones, and contrast are all perfect, too, not to mention the composition. Excellent shot, man.

Humidity? What's that? I've only recently come to know what the word means. In five days we've gotten over 5" of rain - more than HALF of our yearly amount! We got 2" in a few hours in that five days, too. Crazy.

Anyways,

This shot isn't that bad. It really isn't. If you were to adjust the curves in PhotoShop it would look even better.

Shizzle, I didn't even know you had gotten a DoD - EXCELLENT work, Todd! I wish I could get an award like that. This shot is deserving of an award. Your DoF is perfect and the composition is excellent. Colors and tones are beautiful, too. I love how the flower on the right is so crisp - almost looks like it was cut out of paper. Incredible shot, Todd.

Damn, Todd... This is a great macro. Excellent blurred background. Great composition, with possibly the exception of the flower obscuring the wing a bit (many would make a huge deal over it, but I rather like it). Great work, Todd. Your photos have become even better with that DSLR. Great work, buddy. I'd like to see more macros from you.

PS, be sure to add this shot to the macro category so everybody that looks in the macros will see this shot.

I totally agree with you, Antoinette. I love the rust tones on anything. I feel that it gives the image a bit more character. Thanks for the comment and taking a look at my shots.

Thanks, Marija. I think I prefer this version, too because of the reds in it. While I love B&W photos, I love color for this type of stuff. Gives it a bit more character, I think.

Depending on the image and what needs to be done in terms of contrast, ect., I use different B&W techniques. For this image, because the contrast and tones were already quite good with the color version, all I did was desaturate it. Which was awesome because I didn't have to do anything else.

This is an excellent shot, Jo. You need to put it in a project - I wouldn't be surprised if you got a BoP award. Excellent lighting and composition in this. Great work.
