Depending on the image and what needs to be done in terms of contrast, ect., I use different B&W techniques. For this image, because the contrast and tones were already quite good with the color version, all I did was desaturate it. Which was awesome because I didn't have to do anything else.

Excellent B&W landscape, Dev. I love the fogginess of the distant mesa. Tones are spot-on. Contrast is great and the compositiion is excellent. All-in-all an incredible photo. Great work.

I remember watching a documentary on the construction of this building - WHAT A BUILDING! It's so organic. Excellent capture. You certainly did the building justice. Great work, Michael.

This is an excellent shot, Jo. You need to put it in a project - I wouldn't be surprised if you got a BoP award. Excellent lighting and composition in this. Great work.

This is an EXCELLENT shot. DoF - perfect. Tones - perfect. Subject? AMAZING. What luck?! That they both were right next to eachother is amazing and what's more amazing is that you got the shot. Incredible. Great work.

Whoa - wait a minute - did I tell you about the whole "Captain Morgan" thing or did you just pull that out of left field?

What's weird is that's often my alias for video games, forums, etc. It all started a while back when some friends and I were all playing poker and I started talking like a pirate (I don't know why... there wasn't any liquor involved...), but they started calling me "Captain Morgan" or "Cap'm" and it stuck.

What's more, I'm wearing my Captain Morgan shirt right now.

Strrrannnge...

Wow. This shot was one of my first landscapes. I'm glad that you like this shot. It was the best I could do and I didn't really know what I was doing and assumed it was crap. Now that I look at it again, I rather like it...

Thanks,
Morgan

Yeah, I wouldn't think that you could do such work in a hurry. I like that crop you did. Thanks for the idea. I may crop in to where the window is centered vertically but on the left-thrid of the image horizontally. ...If that makes any sense...

What an excellent photo. I love the conrast of scales here. I had no idea they were that small when young. Excellent DoF, composition, and tones. Great work.

What a great abstract. I'm really liking your work. Normally, I'm not interest in photography liek this, but yours is quite interesting. You'd go crazy up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Great work.

I may try blowing up that bowling pin part and trying it with that. that could work. (I feel like a dork - I didn't even notice that bowling pin...)

Thanks for the advice, Michael. My girlfriend was walking away to look at some shops, so I was kinda rushed with this shot (not that it would have turned out any better, I didn't really know what exactly to do with this shot in terms of organizing it, thoough to split it in thirds would have work better had I had a lens that would have allowed me to zoom out any further.).

Just noticed the selective coloring on this shot. Excellent tones in this shot, Mark. How do you get your tones like that (and on the gravestone shot)? Now that I'm cool, like you and own a 350D I must know.

EXCELLENT photo, Miles. This is by far THE best airplane photo I've seen on here. Great tones, great contrast, great silouette. Excellent image. Thanks for sharing. Great work.

Now that it's too late, did you consider using the battery grip for the 350D for extra hand realty? I think I'm going to go that route though my hands are small, I'd like the larger batt capacity and the vertical grip.

Thanks a lot for you comment. Did you notice because I commented on the colored eye or did you notice it yourself? Just curious as to how many people actually noticed without me saying anything. I figured most wouldn't.

Thanks, that means a lot coming from you. I have to keep posting, now. I just spent a bunch of money on a new DSLR! I think I'm going ot have to go back up to CO to take more landscapes, though. That and Northern NM.

I started thinking about it and you're right - you're not that guy, but then again, you sound like you know that. Looking forward to seeing more shots of White Sands. Hope you get to come back and take some more shots of some other places in NM.

Not a bad price.

$5k? Ouch. A bit steep. That's about how much I payed for my car!
