Although the light coming into this frame is centered, I see an image of an eagle in the clouds. I think the shot is interesting as is. Carla

My appologies Tom, I didn't realize the other photos were the work of students as well. Please do share my comment with them. You are also welcome to share work from my portfolio as needed. Some photos that have had effective 'constuctive criticisms', which I have tried to correct are: Good Friend, Wood Stove, & Someone Get the Door
I also have a few PS manipulated photos in my portfolio. Please let me know if there is anything I can share to help explain my methods.
It would be a great exercise for the students to try to rework their images & repost, whether they agree with the critique or not, they may like the outcome and will learn someone else's perspective. Because we sometime put our heart into our work, it is difficult to hear someone suggest a change.
Best Regards to you & your talented class. Carla

Wow, Mark this image really brings back a hidden childhood memory. If I remember correctly, this was a Phillips 66 station; they all took the same architectural shape & color. Excellent capture and title. Thanks for sharing.

Tom, I really like the PS manipulation you have done here. The effect of the putty knife is a little strong in the forehead, can it be toned down any? In any event, it give a little twist to a regular portrait. Very nice.

Tom, I really enjoy the concept of the two images coming together. I do however feel there are two very strong images popping at the same time. Although the post is a year old now, I wonder if it would soften the mood a little if one photo could be slightly desaturated or have the levels adjusted. Very interesting. Carla

Very interesting Tom, however, how did you know it was safe to touch. I have just discovered your portfolio and am making my way through it. There are a few images I will have to stop pay a visit to. It is a wonderful idea to post the work of students in UF for a wide perspective of what works well.

The title depicts the mood of this picture very well. It is listed as color, did you desaturate it some? In my opinion, the right tree branches could be cropped out, otherwise great compostion. I like the angle you shot this picture from. Well done! Carla

Joe, did you get a chance to take a look at my previous comments? I already cloned in the canopy so that it is solid. Someone else brought that to my attention also. You will find it attached to the comment above yours under 'Good Friend'. Carla

Well Paul, here it is. I would have liked to crop more of the canopy out of the frame, but it creates something funky with the doors, so I backed off. I think the guys are more difficult to shoot than little kids...eek!
Yes it is a HD and 'Proud to be on a Metric' is also now on a HD as well

Joe, it seems I was too busy looking at the villages of Portugal to notice this photo is in Spain. The monument is enormous. The angle you have shot this from provides a nice perspective of the size of the building. Very well done.

So funny you should post this Carla, I was just saying to my friend traci (http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/11868.html), that I would like to see a Ragedy Ann series. I mentioned Ragedy Ann seems to have been forgotten, but apparently not. Any how, please take a look, she is very creative with her work.
