Interesting and effective composition of a very interesting piece of architecture. Looks like you've got some dust on your lens or sensor. I think you may want to boost the contrast of this photo and burn in the bottom left corner, its a bit of a distraction (for me atleast)

I love how the angles of the building seem to pop out; very 3-D and very mesmerizing. I can see how one may become "lost", in the picture

Great capture. I like the somewhat minimalized feeling of the person in this photo with the emphasis on the diamond pattern. It really emphasizes your title of not knowing what to do or where to go.
Well done, and keep up the great work! J

its a nice photo of this rental shack, but i think we need something of interest here to focus on. even if it were just a person sitting on the side or standing on the edge or something.
best wishes. james

Thanks Hugo. Yeah I can't put my finger on it either. I know that I deliberately left the camera out of focus but I'm not sure why (or more accurately) what I was going for. But still the image appeals to me. Again thank you for your input!

Hi Michael, I have nothing against a photo without a single thing in focus, if it serves a point or have an artistical added value. Although I do think the bright white sign acts as an eye catcher, drawing the viewers attention towards it, I'm not sure it qualifies for the artistical added value; the point of the blur is (also) lost on me. But yes, it does make me wonder; afterall, it did attract my attention, and made me think about it. There is something strangely appealing about this.
Cheers,
Hugo

I agree that the grainy effect gives it an "old fashioned" flair. My first thought was of a newspaper print.

Beautiful golden colors against the dappled background. I'm not sure why, but my first emotional response to this was one of sadness -- maybe a favorite sitting spot shared with someone who is now gone. Like I said, I don't know why the response. Thanks for your comments on my images Oxbow Bend and Inspiration Point images (sorry I didn't respond sooner -- I've been traveling). -- Naomi
