Hi, Ray, getting back to you on your comment about my shot of Pope John Paul II. Since covering him in the early 1980s, I have so touched by His Holiness that I have followed his every trip abroad, including the two that he made in the United States. He truly is a living saint. You can't help but be touched by his saintliness. Good luck to you!

This picture reminds me of a photograph by master photographer Ansel Adams. I agree with Massimo, the image looks very pixilated. Try saving the converted image with less compression, it should do the trick.

I was only a little kid when His Holiness first visited Cebu, Philippines. I can still remember the warmth feeling when I got to see a glimps of this great man of God. Thanks for sharing your photos Rene.

Hello, Cameny, Thank you very much for your observations. Yes, the image could have been scanned more professionally. The bluishness is a very normal characteristic of the Kodak Ektachrome Slide Film, and the water and sky's deep blue color has also contributed to the overall bluish cast of the picture. I am very new to scanning, and my Nikon LS-10 film scanner is not exactly leading edge. Cheers! Rene Villaroman

Hi, Musleh, Thanks for the very nice comment. The film brand was a mistake. I used Kodak Ektachrome, and I have the correction. Cheers! Rene Villaroman

Fantastic landscape! It's pity because of not so professional scanning and postprocessing. There is some dust and scratches visible, as well as horizontal lines. The colors left a bit too much into blue. On the other side, this photo is really promising! 5/7

I think this could be a good shot, the place is really fantastic and the BW conversion looks fine, but the image is heavily pixellated, I don?t know if is the compression or I had some problems while opening it. Bye, Max
