Manila, Philippines
About: Took up photography more than 30 years ago, while in college studying to be a journalist. Had a career in communications, public relations, and freelance writing and photography before immigrating to the United States in 1986. My enduring passion is nature and travel photography, but I support myself partly doing photo reportage, events and wedding photography. I am a diehard Nikon user, having bought my first Nikkormat FTN in 1971. I've used and owned almost all Nikon film cameras--from the Nikon F up to the Nikon F100, which is my primary film camera. It is backed up by a Nikon N80, a Nikomat EL and a Nikon EM. I have a collection of auto-focus and manual-focus lenses, with 24-mm being the widest, and a 500-mm Tamron Mirror lens being the longest. My favorites are the 24-mm Nikkor and the 85-mm f1.8 autofocus Nikkors. I use them in about 75-per cent of my reportage and commercial work. I also have a Hasselblad 500 C/M with a 80-mm Planar lens, which I use mostly for commercial work. I am now in the midst of transitioning into digital photography. However, I don't believe that I would completely give up my film cameras very soon.
