About	I took this photograph of Pope John Paul II more than 20 years ago, when His Holiness visited Manila, Philippines for the first time in 1982. The photo depicts him giving his blessings to the hundreds of thousands faithfuls who gathered to see him celebrate mass in Manila's Rizal Park. This picture was published in one of Manila's daily English newspapers.

Hi, Ray,
getting back to you on your comment about my shot of Pope John Paul II. Since covering him in the early 1980s, I have so touched by His Holiness that I have followed his every trip abroad, including the two that he made in the United States. He truly is a living saint. You can't help but be touched by his saintliness. Good luck to you!

I was only a little kid when His Holiness first visited Cebu, Philippines. I can still remember the warmth feeling when I got to see a glimps of this great man of God. Thanks for sharing your photos Rene.
