Great shot Christian, well balanced composition and great cloudwork. It's an attractive image for sure, I woould however (for this kind of shot) try to clean a noise of the camera, quite visible in darker parts of the skies. Cheers, n.j

Christian, this is what realy amazed me in the area are those decomposing old farms houses - I guess this is a kind of the tradition there to live things so natural. It invites one into retrospective contemplation on the time passing and look back into history left behind. For me it's a beauty that nature embrace back and ward to protect and to tell the stories.
Your picture here is just an example of that, it's nicely composed and monochromatized to strengthen the expresion. Like the picture.
Regards,
n.j

I like the tone to this picture. I can see myself all alone on the water. I like what the green flares add to the picture. They are dificult to avoid when shooting into the sun.

NJ, Thanks, I was struggling with exactly what you are talking about. I ultimately went with just another level of sharpening (as you point out could be too much), to get visibility of the birds directly in front of the black tanker hull. Any less sharpening and we couldn't see them and of course I got the over effect on the birds in the open. Your thoughts and tips are very helpful for me. thanks again. - Christian

Chris, it's a great composition and beautiful scene, You may however oversharpen a bit the image getting kind of hallo around high contrast elements of the frame (birds). It's pretty often very challenging for me either to avoid those effects without limiting the image expression. Cheers, n.j

A really nice capture of the intensity of the game. I like the clarity and palette. One suggestion I might make that I think would enhance the dramatic impact would be to do a tighter crop on the players. Below is my first approximation. What do you think?
