Hi Kasia,

It was indeed S of Salar de Uyuni, very near to the Chilean border. I was there exactly one year and one week ago (not that I'm counting!)! Now unfortunately back home and no-longer travelling and working in a graduate job instead... not sure how long that will last before I head off again though!

Thanks for the comment Canon girl! Why the 20D when you had a wonderful Nikon 35mm SLR??

Great camera and lens!!! Did you do much dodging and burning?

Love the perspective and clouds.

A great shame about the vignetting. Probably the D1X sensor though. Loving your collection of lenses!

But with a graduated filter right?

Super portfolio and a wonderful collection of Cameras! You are one of the few 'Photographers' on this site.

Kara - light fall off or 'vignetting'.

Buying a lovely, expensive, heavy, fast lens would do the trick. But just using as small an aperture as possible (higher f number) should help.

It can be corrected however to some extent in ps. Go to transform and the the vignetting option to lighten/darken the corners by %.

Hi Marek! Did you cool it down a bit ie. WB or colour compensation filter? I like the colour cast/temp. because it isn't quite as warm as it probably would be, this time of day; you've made it look perfectly natural.

What a fantastic lens! What focal lenght was it at? Very god shot but I don't like what you've done to the shy. It all needs to be warmed up to remove the central white/blue cast bit.

Doyle, I've been kicked in the side of head by a monkey before, whilst composing a photograph!!

Masterful. Superb lens, even if it is a Canon!!!

I like this but there's a lot of light fall-off around the edges.

A bit of cropping would add more impact - say 20% off lh side and about 15% off the bottom. Well focused.

This is a fantastic shot. Because of the theme, I do think it would be better if there were seeds on the r.h. side as well. Love it though :)

Do you think the most dedicated 'professional' wildlife or 'professional' environmental activist protographers do it for money and fame?

Thanks guys! Hand-held. I would have liked a smaller aperture, hence slower shutter but this was about as slow as I could go without a tripod!

Wonderful colours. Has it been cropped? I think the composition would be improved with the inclusion of the edge of the far left tree.

All the very best.
