One of my neighbours has a pet like this. It is a bit smaller though. And not a hippopotamus. I expect more of my neighbours would have pets like this if we lived in a zoo.

This is both dramatic and remarkable, with interesting contrast. As you so rightly say, it denibstrates their superiority.

Hallo Ile!!

There was something about the brickwork and the street lighting that created this mood in the whole of the city centre and beyond.
The street lighting here where I live has a different colour temperature and is nowhere near as pleasant. I have yet to find a nook or cranny in this city of 3.5 million nooks and possibly even more crannies that exudes mysteriousness like this one here.

Thanks. That lot don't scare me. I'll take the lot of them on down the Bigg market on a Friday night.
I checked and learned that the Trinity Square car park was demolished in 2010. Amazing that they actually got round to it! It had been due to be demolished for ages. Somewhere or other, I have some photos if it with my car parked in an area that was not yet condemned. And of the Sage under construction.
Yes, what nostalgia!!
This picture must have been from the last time I was there: http://www.imageopolis.com/image.asp?id=920021#.VLFhPmYpIUE
Wouldn't it be funny if we ever found out that our paths had actually crossed while taking pictures of the Tyne?
This wasn't you, by any chance?? http://www.imageopolis.com/image.asp?id=963358#.VLGE4mYpIUE

Hallo Ile!!
Zwei Gebäudeerinnerungen gehen funktionsgetrennt ebenfalls in entgegengesetzte Richtungen. Im Großstadtgewühl läuft einem buchstäblich alles davon!!!

My goodness me!! It is nearly 15 years since I was there last. The Sage had only just been started, I think, and the Trinity Square car park was still clinging on to its foundations. They filmed Get Carter there!!! The buildings on the left must be new too.
Gateshead. For me, the place used to be all about attempting to get bald fat bouncers in Tescos to accept that I was a legitimate customer, and that just because they had never heard of tahini, it didn't mean it didn't exist.
I think I am going to have to sit down. The excitement is getting to be a bit too much. Oh, I am sitting down already.

Gayle!!
The cheesecake was actually a cheese-free microclimate with nuts and oranges and stuff, all pummelled together with my handy cheese-shaped mallet. Perhaps "slopcake" would have been a more accurate description, but would obviously have detracted somewhat from its appetizing nature. Except for people who are very close to nature and are not easily misdirected by mere words.
It seemed like a good way to put out strength in your general direction. Posting one would be out of the question. International slop delivery standards are not what they used to be in the 19th century.

It is actually a singularly unpleasant place to be. It beats me why people are moved to go there in the first place. Except those who work there, obviously.
And there are hardly any dogs. That was just wishful thinking on my part.

Gayle!!
It's a Gayle image.
This is scenery like you do not get where I live.
If you look at it long enough, you start to see a pre-head-lifted Kirk Douglas bounding into the foreground like a two-dimensional fireman engrossed in a game of galley tennis, and followed by an army of thousands upon thousands of scurrying Tony Curtises, all practicing their audience-proven acting skills by declaring filial love to a random protagonist while pretending to die at the same time.
If you are a budding actor, maybe try acting only one thing at a time. Otherwise you may come a cropper. Then get a backdrop like this to practice swarming against.
GAYLE!!!!

Hello Olga,
This is very funny. She is evidently a collector of utilitarian cupboards, which she keeps in an underground bunker in a derelict part of a city. And she is looking at a newly acquired cupboard, and has just had an idea what she can use it for.
This is precisely the sort of look that people give me when they see me hiding inside a cupboard.

A concentrated old bloke with all his memories of aeons pushing his way through a barrier of modern people who have no idea that they will be in the same situation when they are past 50 years of age.
