yeah, funny.. i am in connecticut now.. i remember about three other guys out there that morning.. I parked at badwater and walked in a couple of hundred yards towards the mountains.. I was there for a week but barely saw 1/10th of the park.. And I was out every day for 6-8 hours hiking and taking photos..

Cant wait to get back~

very very nice. I like how the macro subject is not in the center of the photo, its hard to capture flower subjects in new and interesting ways but i think you did it with this shot..

did you use a tripod?

converted in photoshop, i love the ease of digital. I could have shot it on 35mm and gotten the same effect i am pretty sure..

it prints out perfectly at 8x10 as well..

i highly reccomend the Canon Digital Rebel

I was wondering about the levelness of the horizon, i was going to rotate it 2 or 3 degrees but thought it sort of matched the contour of the earth, like it was shot through a fisheye or wide angle lens.. I like it the way it is, adds a little weirdness to the shot, otherwise it is a a pretty basic sunset shot.

Hi, thanks alot for the comments..

I did add a little red in photoshop.. I am not sure if it is a setting I set on my camera or what, but pretty much every photo I have taken with the Minolta Dimage (last years smaller digital model) are hazy. Its not a big deal, I just have to adjust the brightness and contrast by about +/- 5-7 points in photoshop for each photo to get them to look right. In this photo I added a little red too.

Cannot wait to start working in my new darkroom in a week or so and to stop relying on photoshop as much! Thanks again for the comments!

I really like your work, nice grainy- techy- urban scenes... Your compositions remind me of Stanly Kubrick's "2001: A Space Oddesy"

Very cool stuff.

wow, nice photo! I really like the tones, light, composition and style... I would try burning in the top edge where the white light bleeds into the matte area, maybe not though..

Very nice photo!
