Love everything about this the grain of tri-x most of all. I think a little burning and dodging at the top would help thyis image a lot. I'm alsom a big fan of high contrast and this really cought me eye.

KOOl Shot!

Nice composition, I like the way the Willow tree(?) stands just as proudly as the Washington Monument.

Well done!

Great image and title.

By any chance did you get a shot from directly underneath, and do the other Gargoyles have different faces as is most often the case? I'd love to see the other three if they do.

Hi Maris,

I've been watching your work on PN for quite a while, glad to see you found this little corner of the web.

Love the way you cropped this one. The gaze in your (?) eyes and the off center composition really pull the viewer in...............VERY KOOL!

Kiarang

After viewing a comment you left on another image I thought I'd stop by and take a look at what you have going.

WOW, what a world I've been missing, you have a great portfolio here, keep them coming.

What a beautiful and intimate portrait this is, excellent shadows and highlights. And what a great tonal range.

Straight to my favorites goes this image, and you to my list of friends. Fantastic work!

It's almost like it's leading, pulling, calling me into the light.
Love the grain.

Never, and I mean never, have I made a comment on a landscape image. I just don't, most of the time it's because I'd rather be there to view it. Other times it's because the image just doesn't do justice to what we're looking at.

BUT! This image just takes my breath away!

WAY TO GO GERHARD!!!!!

This is one VERY well done image! The crop is dead on, and the contrast really makes this shot for me.

EXCELLENT WORK!

So far I see five, but, the more you look the more you see. I'll get back to you in a day or two if I can pick out some more.

Kardi

I have tried to adjust it in PS to get the burned out parts of the face to a more acceptable level but then the rest of the image suffers. Even after masking out the highlighted parts and burning them I felt that the image just didn't "look" right.

I think it might be just another aspect of the SFX 200 pushed to 800 and the red filter. I'm working with a new model and some SFX to see if that's it. I'll be posing some images from that shoot soon. I'll give you a heads up when I do, love to have your opinion.

Nice capture Neil, excellent composition and DOF!

I'd like to see this one with a little more contrast, but that's just me. I'm sure you know by now that I'm nuts for high contrast.

Very nice mood you've created here Yoshi, I especially like the large white mats on the white wall.

Even though it looks perfect as is, I think this would awesome in B&W!
