Thank you Ann. It's one of my favorites too because it's the kind of image that can't ever be re done. The weather conditions on the mountain that morning and me being there at just the right time were meant to be I guess. The location is 18 miles past Agness on Forest highway 23 which is also called Bear Camp Road. The elevation where the photo was taken is about 5000 feet. ...just in case anyone asks. ;)
I doubt if the little tree is still standing.

Randy, this is still my most favorite. I framed the copy you gave me, and always get comments from all that see it. I absolutely love it!!! ;)

Thanks Paul. I used to think that scanning wouldn't need much more than dust removal. Now that I have a scanner, I find there is a lot more to it than that.

Thank you for enjoying the humor, Wolf. I'd suppose that some might take a quick glance and not notice what's going on in the image.

A fine image, I like the heron being visible with a fish meal in his beak in the lower reflection while the fish is not visible in the upper reflection :-)

Beautiful reflections and silhouettes caught up in a deliciously moody blue evening tone. Well seen Randy, a great capture. Best wishes.

Thank you for the comments. When walking or hiking, I think we all look for shapes and patterns. This one caught my eye, and I'm glad I slowed a little to stop and photograph it. It's not far away. I should go there and see if I can still find the exact location again. I wonder how much it's changed in 25 years.
...yes, this is good >old< Kodachrome still holding it's colors.

Thank you stingRay. We ha a lot of monochrome days here in Oregon's coastal area. ie: fog and clouds.
The color is as it looks on the slide.

Thank you again, Mary. I always tended to shoot my images a tad too much on the dark side. With Kodachrome, the lights and darks were hard to control. I wished I had bracketed more on this one. I probably should have made it into more of a panoramic image, eliminating some of the top portion. It's a bit boring.
I appreciate comments and especially critique of what I show here.

Thank you for the comments. I never took many "people" photos, but I always got lucky whenever I took a photo of this kid. She's a sweetie pie and always has a smile on her face. On this day, I think I captured heaven in her expression. She was having a great morning. I probably should have made this a "project", as there are other similar images of her from this morning above the lake.

A wonderful frozen shot of the water pouring from it's source and heading for it's destination Randy. Love the monochrome tones. Best wishes.

Haa haa.............. that was what I thought when I first viewed this image from the little gold Kodak box many years ago.. ;) Receiving and opening these small yellow Kodak boxes of slides each week was a real treat, and can in no way can that experience even slightly compare to the instant gratification in photography today.
Thank you Michele for taking time to comment.

Hi again Randy. This is my third time here (twice with UF) I used to leave, take a break away from it then come back again. Ray is my name and stingray was my ten pin nickname which I decided to use as my handle for many things :) I will look forward to viewing your work. Best wishes.

Well, I'm back and I'm glad the website is back too, and with a lot of familiar names. Prior to usefilm/imageopolis, I never had an outlet for my images.
Thank you for looking in and commenting on my photo.

The location was a local paper mill's settling pond. The mill is now gone, and the water isn't there anymore except during heavy winter rains. It's turned back to nature with lots of brush and grass and like many of my images, can't be duplicated anymore.
Too bad tho, because a mile westward looking into the photo is the Pacific ocean. This old mill pond was a nice place to see a sunset when the sky and clouds were just right. I got lucky a few times. Thank you for the comment, Ronen

We do love being able to spend a good chunk of the summer at the lake. There are lots of good friends and the sunsets are lovely. With all our years there though, we have seen only a few sun pillars.

You really captured the happiness on her pretty face. It is a cute shot and a lovely memory picture.
Yes, they surely do grow up too fast.
