This is another real beauty. The vivid red is terrific, of course, but the star of the show (to my eye) is the spot-on focus and the perfect dof. For some reason, cardinals are scarce around here while, in Virginia, they were everywhere. Thanks for reminding me!

I know how hard it is to shoot Cardinals. Their red colours seem to want to melt into eachother and appear to blur so easily. You did a nice job on this one. We have plenty of these around here now too. They stand out nicely against the snow. When I get a decent one, I'll post it.

A wonderful capture Darlene. Sounds like you're having problems uploading your images. I did too at first but I've only uploaded one iamge since the upgrade. Think I'll hold off uploading more until after the New Year.
At first glance I thought this may have been just a tad oversharpened but it's a wonderful image. The red is stunning and composition is perfect and the DOF is excellent.
