Hi David,
I have PhotoImpact and I'm not sure if that will allow such a detailed action. I'll look in the Help section. The building in the background is the Washington Monument, as this is the Mall in DC.

Thanks, Lisa. I agree with you about the cloning in of snow. I kind of like the look of many footsteps right at the crossing. Someone explained to me once though, that from a perspective point of view, it's better to have the line come from the right, because of the way the eye travels. Sometimes that choice isn't there though, in this case, had I thought about it, it would have changed the image, as the Capitol building would be in the distance, not the Washington Monument (which is almost out of sight, which is ok, as it wasn't the subject of the picture). I don't know how true that is about perspectives, it made sense to me though.

If you flip the image and you have photoshop you can then just select the sign and flip the words. Also is there a building in the far background, if so you can clean this up also.

Petra, I like this photo the way it is, to be honest. I'm not sure about the idea of cloning snow in if you were to switch it, but I do understand where David is coming from somewhat. I'm not big on cloning in photos. I don't like the idea of changing reality. What I like about this photo is the way the eye travels down the walkway and into the distance. I like the background looking this way, but maybe it is also interesting the other way.

Thanks, David, I see what you mean. Too bad there are letters involved, otherwise I could just flip the image.

Petra I liked this. Is it possible to shot this image a little farther down the walk and looking in the other direction. This would put the trees on the right hand side of the image and thus hold your eye in the image longer. And maybe clone in some snow in the front of the image. As is this is still a very strong image.
