Hi Bek. Thank you very much for your kind words. I'm afraid I'm like you. Seeing Jaws all those years ago only reinforced my belief that if God had wanted me to surf I would have been born as a dolphin. I only go deeper than my ankles by accident.(lol) I do love walking on the beach, though. We do it twice a day, weather permitting, and I take my little Powershot with me just in case of possible images like this one. I've missed a couple in the past and still kick myself for not having the camera. Cheers, Ann.

Ann, firstly congrats on your award streak! Keep pulling them in girl, your latest work has been diverse in subject and perfect in quality (as always), so YAY to you.
Secondly, I want this!! I have always had the urge to learn to surf as I am in love with coastal anything. But having only just seen JAWS, yeah I know, took me a while....I'm not sure if I have the guts to get in any deeper than my knees!! Such a shame, should never have watched it..LOL
Beautiful dawn colours, distant city skyline, rolling surf and wet reflection. I love that the surfer is nearly a sillhouette, but that the detail remains, and the surfboard stands out but doesn't dominate.
But what I think really makes this shot is the surfer's longing gaze back out to the never-ending waves. Knowing that they will be there again tomorrow is one thing...wanting to stay out there all day today quite another.
