Sorry for the late reply, Michele! Asger returned from Turkey yesterday and today I´ve been to a castle.
You´re right. Your generation doesn´t face the same need or pressure to be an excellent wife, mother, careerwoman, handywoman, worldexplorer etc. My generation is spoiled in a way, but all this freedom also adds more pressure and stress.
I have never been in the situation you talk about, but I can imagine that being so many generations one can easily be just one more number in the crowd. There´s simply not the same time for each individual.
I can imagine the agony of having an ill mother and daughter living in two different places! Where to be, what to do?!
I hope that living with your mother has brought more peace to you.
The bipolarconditions has of course also had its influence. No doubt about it. I hope you don´t suffer much from it though. I know that it hits people in various ways.
Take very much care, Michele- I have a headache that I must care for right now.
Warm hugs from Annemette

You are also much more Annemette- and You do manage to keep some of Your own idenity thru your ART IMO --- ( yikes at the time I was really affected I was also a wife-almost forgot- tooo many hats)

Altho for me and the generation I grew up in --- that wasn't exactly what I was having problems with--- I wanted to be a Mom, a wife, a Grandma--- I was always a daughter--- but when we would all get together I felt invisable at times...I would talk, and no one could hear me- I was over-ruled, I could walk out the door and not be missed- or so I felt--- maybe I had other problems too -- Proabably some of that bipolar ride I go one occassionally --- almost as if I was envious of my MOM in a sick strange way--- and I was sooo confused by those strange feelings they spooked me!
Other times I was just torn because if my Mom was sick , and my daughter was needing me, and they both lived in 2 different states, I didn't know which way to go...does this make any sence?
Wacko, Michele~

I think I do know what you feel, Michele. Many generations at once are a gift, but it´s also important being sth. else than a mother, daughter or grandmother - to have an identity that is free and exclusively your own.
After having Anna Sophie and getting adjusted to this new role as a mother and as a wife to Asger I feel a strong need to emphasize what is me. Being a wife and a mother is a gift in life, but I´m also so much more. Is that also what you´re thinking about?

Kauai is Perfect too my dear- and an island I have not been to as well:))

Not to drag this out Annemette, but in having 4 generations for many years now I've had plenty of time to have so many thoughts about this I wanted to share one puzzling thought.... Right now- or ever I wouldn't change a thing- BUT- so many years I struggled with being a mother, a daughter and a grandmother I beleived we were not meant to live this long...it gave me a bit of grief actually- I felt pulled in too many directions, and I was....
I still have my moments when we are all together because there is truely a natural heiarchy within this clan- as there should be- Mostly I pray there will not be 5 generations for a very looong time - ha!!! Just a thought for you my dear in-case you find your-self in many generations in your future....
Take Care,
michele~

We´re allowed to dream, and sometimes we can even make them come true! Kauai is also a beautiful island:-)
You have 4 generations?! Wauw! Such a gift being so many generations although you might not think about it.
Haha no math has never been my strong side, but I can see that you all had children early in life! A familytradition*LOL*
You almost have a clan of your own- you should have your own pattern and familycolours haha!
Be well

Well, I can see the starqualities in him for sure;-)
I saw Mary´s photo with the two generations. Such a fine and warm moment and as I told Mary it´s not many that get to have greatgrandchildren and vice versa. It´s truly a gift. In Denmark we get married and have children rather late in life, so no greatgrandparents around for our children:-(
Take care and did I hear sth. about Maui?? I´m in just for the record*LOL*

I admit I didn't give this guy enough credit - He must have thought I was from 'Star Search' or something because he was a determined character- had I had a zoom lens - It would've been hysterical !!!!

Thank You Annemette ,

Looook at meeee- and one and two and threeeeeee I can flyyyy...almost! *LOL* It looks like a tapdancing bird or sth. similar. Very amusing shot from the beach. I love beaches, the ocean, the colour of the sky, but this bird really does it to me:-)
