About The Siletz Bay looking west at the dock at Mo's Restaurant , and further west to hyway 101.... a kyacker paddles near the dock.

Thank You for any and all comments all the time....The bay is filled with drift wood covered beaches as well as the waters are full of logs so kyacking needs to be kept a bit slow ... This is a popular crabbing site...

Thank You so much Doyle . You've been a major help in so many ways . I know you can't do this forever & I don't expect you to. When I a get better camera and lens , I might have to ask a couple simple questions but I've got a lot of notes I've saved that will also come in handy. Seasons Best to you and the family, too ... Merry Christmas !

Michele~

Michele . . .
The little tweaks that I did was burning (a tech term where you make a layer and then - at 25% power lightly brush (with a fuzzy brush) an area that might be a tad too bright (like the trunk on the left and some of the drift wood) and it VERY gradually darkens just that area. Then I enhanced the green by increasing the saturation about +6, decreasing the yellow about -12 . . . which adjusts the overall colors . . . then merge the layers. It's really very simple stuff and sounds more difficult than it is . . . and it really isn't doing all that much. For a frame . . . a simple matter of adding canvas . . . I added just a tad of black and only up and down . . . then a tad of blue . . . also up and down . . . then a bigger bit of black all around . . . then a bit more black on the bottom to add your name. I don't recall Picassa having that ability but I recall using the Paint program that comes in the computers to add a signature and frame before I had other programs that made it easier. Usually, right click the Jpeg and then click open with<Paint . . . but 'SAVE AS' when your done . . . be sure to save as Jpeg and not BMP and change the name so you don't lose the original (just in case). As I recall - I also adjusted light levels for the sky only (just Isolate - darken a tad and add a gentle Gaussian Blur to smooth it. I'm glad you're not angry with me . . . I was trying to show you what I thought was a really cool shot after I finished playing about . . . though I didn't want you to think it wasn't cool before that . . . it certainly was (but for the tilt - LoL!). Besides . . . I very much enjoyed this shot! It's been a real pleasure Michele . . . Merry Christmas!

Seasons Best Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Qué bonito paisaje Michele... tanto los detalles de la izquierda que le dan un toque muy interesante con sus texturas y colores , como lo que se percibe en el fondo que es una maravilla.
Felicitaciones!

Wow! What a difference in the little things you did .. I like the frame and I am picky about frames too. So you leveled the horizon.. and ? what else ? I do have the picasa program that has color ehancements, bla, bla, and shawows, highlights, ets. It sounds like a kindergarten version. Can you tell me how to add my name on it ? Thanks so much Doyle , I appreciate your help always .

Best wishes,
Michele~

Michele -

First . . . The horizon line is a tad (about 3 degrees) off . . . That's my only bad thought on this though.

Now for the good stuff . . . ;)

WHAT A FUN IMAGE! Love the receding layers as the BG just continues outward . . . leaving a lighter and lighter distance cue to let the eye enjoy the depth . . . I'm sure many would enjoy the kayak accent . . . but for me it's that fantastic dock / pier - whatever it's called. The detail in the drift wood . . . the multiple textures on the water surface . . . the distant bridge . . . the natural left-side framing filled with detail and interest . . . so much to enjoy.

Now . . . don't be mad . . . but I thought I'd play with the image a bit . . . as I do from time to time with other people's work to get practice for my own sake . . . only with fun images though and seldom for anything other than my own practice. Since you don't have advanced editing software (Even I have the kindergarten version) . . . I thought I'd show you how this came out (If I were lucky enough to have taken this shot) . . . and apologize in advance for playing with your work. I meant no harm and was thinking only that you would enjoy seeing the work you're doing really IS good stuff . . . it's not just something people say. You have a great place to shoot at - nothing but beautiful scenery. And that talented eye has come (IMO) a long way.

Not mad I sincerely hope?

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~
