Excellent star trails shot. Thanks for the worthy advice on the strobe. Had I had one handy I would have done that. The foreground of the shot you commented on actually was back lit by a national guard security patrol (their pick up). As for your shot considering the duration your film held up fairly well. It's tough to manage but getting the north star in the rule of thirds sweet spot would make this image a tad stronger. I'm jealous... I very much want to take astro-photography. I'll be enjoying your portfolio for a while :)

Thanks for all your comments.
Aiman, I think it was I that suggested composing with an interesting foreground. The area that I shoot from is quite humid, and being just 75 miles north of New York City, has quite a few planes flying overhead. Just 10 seconds after I closed the shutter, a plane flew through the area. Also, a cloud was headed towards the area. If conditions are right, I may try a few more during the summer, but I plan to have my dew heater with me as well. I have a a few older shots on my web site http://homepage.mac.com/tarashnat/astrophoto/welcome.html . If you note my Ursa Major photo, I had two planes go through that one.

Beautiful star trail shot Taras, I thought it is around 30 minutes before reading your shutter speed... Suggest two things: adding somthing in the forground, where the star trails, creat the background for (i.e a hallow in a mountain, or a scape of trees...) and try going up to 2-4 hours long exposure, trails gets longer lines and look very beautiful (i got these comments for my self once)....
