About Shot at my granddaughters wedding 2 weeks ago. This was taken near sunset and was able to catch this as another flash from the left lit them up. I was shooting without flash and got lucky.. There is some slight motion blur but I really liked the light in it. Thanks Stan

I've seen this type of shot done before, but what I can't figure out is how you and any of the others talked the bride into getting in any body of water wearing her dress? lol Please tell me! I'm dying to know! :)

Thanks Harry, they wanted to wash the mud of of the bottom of the dress from the mud after the rain. The wedding was outside next to the stream after a rain storm. Everyone was wet and the mud was red. The big man is a policeman and has a gun for every occasion. I would not mess with him either. I was happy to catch this with someone else's flash lighting them at the exact time I shot this. It was almost dark and I was shooting at ISO 1250.
Be well, Stan

Thanks Teresa, I thought it was great that they went into the water after the ceremony. They both had fly rods when they first went in. This was my favorite of the shots taken in the water.

Thanks Ken, the crawdads were not in this mountain stream. I was lucky that the flash went off while my shutter was open. Gave it a unique light and really put Jayme's smile in the front. The flash came from my left about 60 degrees on the other photographers camera. Thanks, and be well, Stan

Unique image Stan, great job with the tough lighting conditions, I keep looking for crawdads at the bottom of her beautiful dress. Very nicely done.

I missed the side trips on this one Randy. I did go by Christmas Valley turnoff, and noticed Fort Rock from a distance in a thunderstorm. We had a wedding dinner at a Cowboy Steak House out side of Paisley. I also went past Alkali Lake and much desolate landscape. Montana look good to get home too!! The canyon the wedding was in was outside of Paisley was great. Had a nice couple of relaxed days before driving home.
Be well, stan

I had to look on a map to see my mistake. I thought Paisley was further southeast near Bly and Plush where I couldn't escape all those crazy jackrabbits ....thump.....that dart across the road in front of you at night. There are things to see in that area, that are interesting and unusual. You probably know of them. South Ice Cave, Crack in the Ground, Fort Rock, The Hole in the Ground, The Big Hole.
Neat area, but I wouldn't want to live there. Too hot and too cold.
Having a wedding out there is just such a neat idea.

This was before the meteor shower Randy. The picture was taken on Aug 1 in the evening. I drove back in 100 degree heat until I got to Pocatello Id. From there to Montana where I live was driven in lighting storms for 4 hours. South Eastern Oregon is fairly cruel in the summer heat. Saw a lot of empty space and few cars. We ate a late breakfast in Wagon Tire, population 2.. The wedding was on a small river that the family camps at every year and they also hunt in the area. Kevin's parents live near Eugene Oregon.
Be well, Stan

This is such a great idea, especially with the comments that you added.
Were you there during the Perseid meteor shower? On my last trip over to central Oregon (many moons ago) it was to see the Perseid shower.
They never have clouds or fog in the summer in them thar parts of the state like we do on the coast.
Most of my trip was during the evening as I traveled through Bly and Paisley........... so all I saw was jack rabbits in my headlights on a gravel road.... thump.............thump...........
It's a beautiful area over there and I'd love to explore it more some day.
This is a beautiful capture Stan and I bet it's one of their very favorites.

You were in Oregon? Too bad you couldn't have come for a visit. Must have been about the time we had our heat wave, too. Got to 107 here.:)

Thanks Shirley, this time of year in southern Oregon was in the 100's and the water was in 70's. They wanted to get a shot in the water after the cake and toast. Was a fun time.
Be well, Stan

Thanks Dave, it was a warm day and the water was in the 70 F range. I think the off camera flash was a great accident. Be well, Stan

Thanks Ray, actually it was there idea to take the plunge so to speak. He is an avid fisherman and hunter. His family camps here every year. I was glad to see her having fun and her smile always warms my heart. I raised her for 13 years and she is like a daughter to me.
Be well, Stan

I've never seen such a drastic step taken for a wedding photograph before like this one Stan . Were you saying to them 'back a bit more, no more than that, keeping moving backwards' SPLASH! 'aah well, while you're there' .
Seriously they look good together and she is so pretty. A lovely shot to remember the day with and I expect there are many more. Well done to you Stan my friend. Great to see some posts from you. My very best wishes to you as always.......Ray
