This is from the same series as my first post 'Pylon', which seems to have been my most popular so far (maybe I should have quit whilst I was ahead!!). I know, I know, "I could bring out the clouds, I could tweak the curves to give it more tonal range...." I know all of this, but I just like it like this, I think it has a dreamy ethereal quality and the eye is forced to seek out detail. Don't even think about suggesting I convert it to black and white, I tried it and it looked like I spilled my coffee on a piece of paper!!! :-).
PS I'm not making excuses but compression really hurts this image, its much better full res!
Ken, I think a lot of people share your thoughts on this, but I still ike it in ethreal pastel shades. As I've said on other postings I tend to upload images that I'm experimenting with and want to get a wider consensus. I think in this case i have to accept that the consensus says contrast!
Hi Andrew, I cropped the lower part off and reduced the exposure a bit. I think you are preoccuppied with the reflections of the wires. I like it this way. Please let me know what you think. Regards, ken.
