Excellent capture of the eclipse. Using a telescope, no less. I wish I would've thought of that. I got some shots of the same eclipse that are very similar in coloration and detail. In VA we had 0 clouds so I was able to get quite a few shots. My favorite was just prior to totality (say 1/8 or less visible to the naked eye). Unfortunately, the longest lens I had handy was a 300mm f/5.6 which produced deeper colors but the 3 sec exposure blurred it a bit. Check it out in my portfolio. I'd love to hear your comments.

Brad,

You could have used a longer exposure for totality to capture more of the red of the eclipse.

The Canon G3 lens (built-in) and a 9.25 inch Celestron telescope.

Oh, that's not so nice to read about the clouds. I observed it in central germany near the city of Frankfurt and we had a perfect clear sky during most parts of the eclipse and especially around the phase of totality...

It was nice. Unfortunatly we were fighting the clouds all night, so my shots were taken in the toio few cloudbreaks.

Fine shot of the eclipse, hope to get my pictures on negative film back on wednesday...;-). It was a fine and colourfull eclipse, wasn't it?

The colors are produced by the sun's light reflecting/bending around the earth, and the dust particles from the earth's athmosphere.

nice... I like the mix of colors as a differentiator from the rest...
