I have visited your site several times and each time been interrupted before I could comment on your work.
I love this shot: although no expert on bird photography I appreciate the wonderful light and the nice composition as well as the owl keeping a watchful eye on you.
I agree with Jim - a little selective sharpening of the central area of the bird would mask what I take to be some movement blur due to it ruffling its feathers

This is fantastic. My only recommendation would be to sharpen your image. The focus is a little soft.

Yowsa! This is my new favourite of yours! The colours are so unique, complementary and beautiful . . . frosty, yet warm . . . the oranges, pinks and blues are spectacular! Harlan is right on about the owl's camouflage - it's demonstrated very well in this photo, and yet the careful DOF causes your subject to stand out at the same time. Your choice of cropping is excellent as you've created a great relationship between the subject and its surroundings. I don't have a single nit about this photo. Well spotted and well captured.

The complex background serves to illustrate how the owl benefits from natural camouflage. Nicely composed and captured.

Stefan, superbly captured! I like the last rays of light in the background, and the ever so slight highlight on the owls' head, it is the finishing touch on this masterpiece. Great composition. The more or less chaotic branches form a superb unity because they cover the entire background and are slightly out of focus. Superb, My compliments!

This is a delightful image. I really like how you have treated the DOF. The owl is nice and sharp against the muted soft colours of the background. Love the way the beautiful pastelly colours of the background complement the owl.
