About One of the stately homes withing a few miles of our house. Looking back to some pictures I took last summer, I was taken by the way this photo divides roughly into thirds, with the nice progression downwards in terms of colour mixing!! Am I seeing too much in this? Hope you like it anyway!!

Chris; I think your photograph is beautiful! However, to me anyway the house really is a "stark" one, and when I first saw it, I thought of a penetentiary-- just seem sort of drab for a "mansion". Excellent picture of it though, and I agree, the sky and grass are great. Cheers. Craig

This i an excelent architecture shot, a beautiful color composition and i think a nice image of England (or UK). Beautiful capture, Chris. I like it very much. Günter.

No you are right about the composition. Very well done. About equal parts of each. Great rendition of the scene. Don.

Pure England!Well balanced, pure, almost cristal colors, fantastic capture! I like it with the shadow and gentle frame (gentle? - is it proper word :-)) I can see a little bit violet on the left! :-)

That's a pretty good spot, Roger!!
The fact is, the picture looked a little distorted, having a kind of convex appearance, so I used the pinch filter in PS to try and get rid of it. Obviously a 5% pinch wasn't quite enough to deceive you eagle-eyed Usefilm friends!!!

Good sky and good detail.
Colour saturation is good too.

You're right about the thirds. That aspect makes it an appealing photograph.
Next, the colours and tones are very beautiful. I love the let's say threatening light.
Regards, Kees

Yes, I like it. There's a strange non-linearity about the building, though. Is it really like that (looking as if there is subsidence going on and the building is yielding gracefully)? Or is that a side effect of the PS work?

Great shot, has an almost 3d effect due to the lovely lines!

P.S I took a bit of time to straighten out the converging verticals and adjust the saturation, but it's otherwise as I took it. Owing to a huge wall that I was standing up against, I couldn't get far enough back to get the whole of the building in the frame!!! Kind regards, Chris
