Hey Cas, the softness of the picture has a flattering effect on this portrait, I like it, I don't at all see it as a handicap or bad thing, in this picture. Regarding lighting: it is a bit overexposed as Ciprian said, but again, I like that here, high key is nice for portraits sometimes, here it works I think. The face is also evenly lit, no harsh shadows. Her eyes could use a little more light maybe, so that the iris would come out better.
The crop is great, the touch of grain works very well. I like the composition and if you want to hear it or not, the girl is beautiful with great and expressive eyes. The only minus is that she seems to stare a bit. I feel there's some tension around the eyes like she had to keep them open for to long. . But the result is wonderful. Great shot..
If you wanted to achive sharpness, sorry you haven't got it. But this shot is perfect as it is, if it were mine I wouldn't change a thing about it in that respect.
Slightly overexposed I would say... but a very good portrait.
