About I've actually cropped out the sky in this picture. If anyone would like to see the whole thing, let me know and I'll post it. It was very windy the day I took this so tough to get the focus right. The entire stalk of wheat is in focus (right down to the ground), which I find a bit strange visually. Does it seem that way to anyone else? Is it distracting? Should I have changed my line of vision to only include the tops?

Personally I love the shallow DOF. I don't know why it's just different and I love it. The colors really go well together. Love the lighting.

I love the soft texture, which is enhanced by the soft light. Will be interested in the follow up photo, but I do like this one as it is.

Thanks Alisa. Actually I've promissed Marty another shot now that the wheat has turned gold. I'll be heading out there again but I have to wait a bit though, I just had surgery on Friday. I think I'll give myself a few more days before I go tramping about.

Very fine shot. I have taken this type of shot of long grass and other foliage many times, but yours works better than mine ever have. I like the plane of focus you chose and the DOF. Maybe I would crop down a bit, remove most of the dark stripe at the top.

Hi Dawn, :) I like the way you handled this, i like the narrow depth of field, and one can almost see the wheat swaying in the wind,,my only suggestion is you revisit this spot, when the wheat reachs its beautiful golden hue.. thats one Id look forward to seeing,, Nice Job :)
