Emmanuel...this type of mirroring is so easy basically because of the dark background. Simply duplicate the layer, flip it and then change the blend mode from normal to screen. That way the colours and lights will shine through.
From there you just move the layers into their positions. I then added two gradient blend layers to change the light colours to the reds and blues.

Larry, you have to have more faith in the camera and its abilities. The majority of this image is straight from the camera. All I did on the PC was mirror the image and change the hues slightly from white/yellow to red/blue.
