Fantastic capture !!! Love the grain and the softness light. After my photo "dancing in darkness", I know how difficult is to shot without light...

Yeah I know what you mean.
I am amazed at the amount of people I know that use digital and then spend most of their time looking at the image display. Their argument to me is that then they can go home happy knowing that the image is sharp and exposed nicely. If you're a photographer I thought those sort of skills were fundamental.
I'm like you and am confident with my skills to know when Ive got the shot. Though I must say that I am happy with my digital B&W conversions They require work in photoshop but nothing more than what I would be doing with them in the darkroom if I were using film.
My biggest gripe with the 20D is the lack of spot metering.
Cheers Mark

Hi Mark, -digital noise can't replace grain ;-) -Conversions from color to B&W with the same results like taking B&W film is as easy as finding the holy grail -I can push my film to 6400 or even higher -Funky effects with color stage lights at high iso rates Of course when you use flash, everything is different. But I hardly do that. BTW, I don't need that instant feedback with digital on concerts. I know if I shot something good or not. Take care! CB

I'm curious in what way did your digital fail so miserably at.

Very moody, I like it! Good grains, too. Unfortunately, I don't know where to buy Delta 3200. I could find Delta 100 in Hungary. In fact my fav is, for now, Ilford HP5 plus. Thanks for your encouraging comments! Best regards, Edward

Hi John! Yes, I know the neopan 1600. Let me put it that way: You should try to pul the delta 3200 1 or 2 stops and we should talk again...;-) Thanks for the feedback! CB

wonderful, moody image - impressionistic, but i still manage to get the idea... makes me nostalgic for my neopan 1600. If you haven't tried it, I recommend it immensely. Back to the image - the curve, the gesture in her hand and tilt of her head is just beautiful. Keep it up. cheers, -jkm

Hey Kev! I tried! I gave digital a chance for my kinda concert photography, REALLY!!!...but it failed misserable!!! So, analog is still my first choice. If you shot with flash and want color, no question about, digital beats analog easily. CB

...well it is an "alternat"ive rock shot - i love that grain - have you tried 3200 iso on your d20 - I suppose that even at that speed you would not get the same effect and adding it digitaly does not have the thrill of processing in a wet darkroom -- good shot - K
