Well...... it must be my monitor, but i like this version better than the corrected one. It's dark and gloomy, and i like that. More "horror"-feeling than the other one. Excellent.

Just to add to your fan club: Great photo!!! Im aspiring to learn photoshop to your level, however im using photoshop elements. Do you have any web links so I can learn how to create such wonderful black and white shots? How do you like the 20D over the Rebel? Once again, WOW. 7/7

Fadel,
I think the washed up old log was just a little too subtle for me at the time. :) No more mention of dead birds from me from now on. I promise.... Unless you post one!

Dear Khaled, I converted the color to BW which was flat greys, then darkened the sky with a curves layer to bring out the cloud details, and then used the dodge tool to dodge the sand, bright parts of the water, and bright parts of the sky, then used the burn tool to darken the shadows in the sky, dark areas of the water and the horizon. The key thing was using the dodge and burn tools with different range and exposure on different parts of the image. Thanks dear friend for the nice comment!

Hey Cheryl, yes I had to run back whenever the water comes closer :) and I have some other shots that got spolied by the rain getting on the lens. This part of the beach is full of logs, it's not a beach for swiming. Thanks very much for the nice comment!

I think using F/22 with a long exposure was a good choice here. It adds depth and clarity beyond that of the human eye. Congrats.
