obviously extra glass in front of the lens means extra reflection etc....
Not planning to use filters,maybe polarisers if I can get hold of one cheap.

Hi Guido, Thanks for the comment and in answer to your question I hardly ever use a filter, the only filters I have are polarizers and very rarely use them......mostly because I don't know a lot about them. I wish I could be more help but if I find out anything about them I will pass it on to you. Best, Darlene

Would like to ask a question Darlene,
Are you using any filters,skylight or others on your telelens?
Because everytime I use any filters in front of the telelens,my pics become softer than without filter!
Is there than a focus issue on digital sensor when using filters?

Must be a small thing, I like shots as this as they show a little more perspective to the animal, as opposed to an extreme close up of the bird itself,
