About
Clashach Cove, Moray, Scotland.
This remarkable little beach near Hopeman is one of my favourite places to be during the summer months. In June, July and August, the sun shines directly into the bays at sunset and warm light filters across the pale rocks turning them to gold, but not on this occasion. This time a heavy summer storm is billowing over Inverness and the sky is purple with rage. Oddly this has given rise to incredible luminosity because directly above my head is a huge white cloud pumping white light down over the sea and pebbles, the long exposure was used in conjunction with a polariser to emphasise the clarity of the turquoise water and the pebbles can clearly be made out below a moderately turbulent sea.
