My apologies Christian - I must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Hard to imagine that tree could find a toehold there - nature does some surprising things. I do love the contrast between the darkness of the oncoming storm clouds and the sunshine on the rocks and evergreen.

Well Mike, it seems like the branch was intentionally placed there, but it was not. It is a tiny pinetree growing along the shoreline, and due to the harsh environment they seldom grow much larger.
