Thanks for the advice... you're right, it could really use some depth. I guess my main focus was the fog obscuring the top of those buildings, and then I also wanted a bit of the farmers market in there too. I know there was a much better shot there, just waiting to be taken... I just couldn't find it. And the temperature was dropping. ;) I think I should have spent more time on it though.
I'm *very* new at this and I really want to improve, (in leaps and bounds if possible.) This site has been incredibly helpful in the 2 days since I stumbled onto it.
Thanks for the kind words about my aspens. After viewing this, I think you need to move to BW with a large camera - 120 might be a good compromise. As to Dallas photo, what were you trying to show the viewer? The street has as much weight in photo as the items across the middle and almost as much as the buildings. Try adding something close to camera as well as behind it, giving yourself some depth. And make that something work to make a statement. Keep in touch.
