I love this. We have a lot of Blue Jays here and we enjoy watching them at the feeders. This is a grand shot. Would you consider taking out the little vertical line that he seems to be balancing on his beak?

I love these guys...I think I mentioned earlier that we get a different version up here in the Pacific Northwest. Big guys, brilliant blue, with high crests and major kick-ass attitude. *grin*

This little one does look shy (nod to Alison), but beautiful. He should come visit his cousins up here. They'd have him struttin' in no time.

Hi Darlene,
This is one of those birds that we have thousands of here in Toronto. They are great to photograph because of their colour and size. We take them for granted here. I have fun in the summer attracting them with whole peanuts. They are very quick swooping in to steal a peanut with the occasional fight with a Cardinal or a squirrel. They can be bullies with the smaller songbirds :)

Wow, he couldn't have picked a better resting spot. It's like a natural studio! Good job Darlene.

Excellent shot of one of my favourite birds, Darlene, for the colours, if not the "song"!

Yes, excellent colors.. lol.. I was just thinking of how to say you missed the focus when I read your comment.. lol So unlike your normal tac sharp detail. but still a great shot of the blue jay. He look like he is balancing a toothpick on his bill :-). Not only are the clors great ( very nice fall colors ) you composed wonderfully. Detail isn't everything. THis shot is still worthy of a frame and a place on the wall...
