Again, thank you Gyuri, I feel honored to be among your favorites! I've been away for a few days, and wanted to add that I got a Wacom Graphire 4 graphic tablet and my first impressions are... I'm NOT impressed! The pen is very hard to get used to (very jerky), and the mouse isn't anywhere as good as my previous Logitech optical mouse (ergonomically it's giving me hand strain, it's too small, the center wheel can't be programmed to what I need, etc). I called Wacom and they told me it's a software bug :) So stay away from it!

What a fantastic and unusual shot of Niagara, Ina! Perfect choice of hue, great motive in the foreground (the ice is a bonus) and the majestic fall gracefully blurred. To my favorites! GYuri

Brrrrrrilliant shot Ina. I feel cold just looking at it (which I don't mind at all sitting here in a Brisbane summer). The colours really tell the temperature there. The contrast between the delicate looking man-made fence and the natural power of the water make this for me.

Thanks Kathy, we live less than an hour from Niagara, I usually go there when we have visitors, we take them to see it. I like it in winter, there are fewer tourists. In the summer you have to wait to find an empty spot by the rail.

I really like these shots. The scrolling of the fence has created such delicate patterns for the snow. Great DOF. Simply wonderful!! Kelly

Thanks Bob, I was going to upload a pano this morning (1200 x 600 - actually a crop), but for some reason - or I'm not doing it right? - mine didn't get the "click HERE" link to see it bigger, it just sat there like a regular photo, in which case I might as well wait until this feature starts working for me. Best regards, Ina

Hi Susie and Thanks! This is actually the rail of the promenade around the "horseshoe" falls, the most spectacular side. Next time I'll use my wide angle, although I don't really like that lens :)

Hi Ann, and thanks for your support! I know you love waterfalls, and I have more from a smaller place nearby. I live less than an hour away from Niagara, I can go anytime I want, the only catch is that on many days there is so much spray from the falls - depending on how the wind blows - that you may not even see it - it could be all in a fog, and the lens gets tiny droplets of water. So I used my lens hood, which cut even more of the light. I may go back soon to revisit also Niagara on the Lake, which is a lovely small town, and get some other shots of streets and horse-drawn buggies. You'd like it here. There is another view also from the NY state side, but this is the famous "horseshoe" side. In the summer/fall you may get more out of it, but also there are millions of tourists. I like it in winter. Cheers and Happy Hoildays, to the Christmas garland girl :)

Hi Andrzej, why don't you put yours on UF, I'd love to see your interpretation. I was in a hurry when I took this (didn't pay for parking) and there was a lot of spray, very cold, overcast, and almost getting dark. Thanks for visiting and for your kind words!

Ina, I love the one, I have similar shot done something like 3 years ego but it's not even close to your perfected design. What a beautiful balance between majesty of the falls and the ice covered metal fence. I like the colors, those are far enough cold but far more pleasing and so very natural for the season. Cheers, n.j

Great DOF Ina. I love the floor of water falling into the blurred wall of water. Looks very dramatic. The delicate iron scroll work in the fence has beautiful contrasts with all that snow and ice on it. I love this shot. Really well done. Do you live near this wonderful place Ina? I haven't been there yet but it's on my list of places to visit. It's so good to see I'm not the only one freezing for good shots this winter. I've been out there taking shots of frozen waterfalls so I too have been freezing my fingers off for a nice shot. Will post maybe next year if I can wait that long. You know how excited we get about wanting to show others our work - hehe
Take care out there.
Cheers from Ann - :)
