OK thx for the explaination. You achieved the same result. I thought you made a bg layer, adjusted the brightness then masked the effect for the area that you wanted.

Ron,

The post on top is what I copied, as its probably a bigger file. Then I just used the lasso tool to outline the background set on 5fx. I did it really fast so the edges probably suck, but you get the main idea.

Then opened up contrast and brightness adjust. Removed the brightness and added contrast. That's about it. I think the dark background makes you focus on the subject. I don't really know what a mask is, as I'm very primitive when it comes to PS...

Thx Martin, just 1 question. Did you mess with the original or the 2nd one with a blurred bg? Your adjustment just effected the bg it seems did you work in mask mode?

Ron,

I love the mood regarding this awesome capture. I hope you don't mind, but I touched up the brightness and contrast a bit...

Also, don't mess with me about the quality, as I only spent 5 min. or less on this 1...

Well done indeed my friend,

Marty

Background Touched Up

Martin . Martin .   {K:24957} 1/26/2006
Ron,

Wonderful mood indeed. I love the distant look in your daughters eyes.

I hope you don't mind, but I had to adjust the contrast and brightness a bit. And after your bathroom ribs to me your shooting in the bathroom? LMAO...

And don't Bitch about my quality, as I only spent 3 minutes on this one...

Marty

Let me know what you think?

I like this. Seems like an intimate photo. The lady is so lost in a dream, thinking about someone i guess. Nice tones . The lady is beautiful, her eyes are mesmerising.

I think the background is busy and hence a bit disturbing. May be a plain (or even a black) background may be better. Just my thoughts though.

well done.
