Knowing that that was Ghandi sealed it for me. Great capture of a decisive moment. What struck me the most was that fellow giving you the peace sign. Is it just me or does he look like Hyde from that 70's show? Quite fitting.
but was it iraq who flew the planes into the wtc? thanks to russell, jim, and andy for your comments... i too like the blurred aspect of the photo, and yes it is ghandi in the background. thanks so much for taking the time to look at my photograph!
We tried to give peace a chance, it was they who brought on this war, remember 9-11? Those who wish for peace don't crash airplanes into buildings full of inocent people. The people who support such acts of war remember what Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto said after the attack on Pearl Harbor "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill with him with a terrible resolve." Now there's my soap box, on to the photo.
Autumn, this is a good journalistic shot, I like it as well as your other work. Keep up the good work.
Not sure if I agree with Russell's spin on Vietnam (I think that mess was to simply serve the tired old dogma of containment) but I definitely agree with his view on the pending mess of Iraq. Now on to the photo...
If that is Gandhi (a little hard to tell) then I think that's an absolutely wonderful thing to have in this photo. I do like the pose you caught of the young man. And even if some people can't quite deal with the blur in the frame, I like it because it conveys energy and exhilaration. Nice work.
I love it! Look at the back ground, My gosh is that Ghandi? I gotta go in to the storage and find my puka shells, tire and rope sandles, tie dye tee-shirts, peace signs, and Wood Stock albums (and something to play them on). Keep 'em coming! Hey Hey LBJ, How many boys you gonna kill today? Do not get me wrong here, I served, my sons are serving, This like Viet Nam (in my humble opinion) is for economic reasons. I do not want to see any mothers sons die for economics. I will give my life for the freedoms we enjoy in this country, but not for oil when we have some many other options. Ok I'm off my soap box now. Again good capture with Ghandi in the background at a peace rally!
