ok will try to explain Photoshop Elements 2.0
-open pic in ps -click default background and foreground colours. black white -Create new fill or adjustment layer(left bottom icon in layers) choose levels. -in levels move middle slider to the left to brighten up the pic(2,08). -now use the brush tool normal 100pcent and start brushing over the areas you want darker again. -when finished ,go to top -Layers- and flatten layers.
Hope you understand ,not easy -first time..

thanks guido, yes it worked well what you did. i think the picture now offers more contrast and sharpness would mind telling me exactly how you did that (especially that bit with the lightend local one...) i know basic photoshop but not expert. So thanks for your tip :)

nice car I reduced blue saturation and darkend,lightend local with photoshop 7.0 in layers. hope y like it
