Beutiful shot, well light and the angle is spot on. My only (minor) complaint is the red spot on the pavement, which detracts from the red hat. Wish I had taken it though.

Welcome Paul. I also read it was an intermittent problem. I'm not a pro, it would just be a toy for me but am sorely tempted to get it myself. It looks like a great assett.

This is a great image, Kelvin. But, as John said, I would rather see the man a little more off-center and the shadow spreading in front of him. But things happen as we can and not always as we like. Congratulations

Thanks for the alert, Ian. I'll check for it.
I just did a portrait session with it a few days ago, and at f8, it was tack SHARP but I will look closer. Thanks!

Ahhhh Kevin C takes the hoboe's route back to u.f.! Nice. Welcome back. (Wont hound you Kev, celebrity's tough)
Paul, I've read there's a quality control issue with the Sigmas. Some of them focus incompletely (zone of out of focus areas on the outside right or left) but surely one can return it if that happens.

Ok, so I'm torn. Help a brutha out here.
I have enough cash now for a Sigma 10mm, but if I save up a little longer, I can get the Canon 10mm.
Are you happy with the Sigma? Sal said it was nothing but trouble for him.

Thanks John and your comment is well taken - I do have a bit of a problem though - I rarely ever crop and at times the composition suffers - cropping to me detracts from my original view of the scene so I have a hard time doing so - in this case I had only a brief moment to pull the camera to my eye and shoot - then the scene was gone - K

Kevin - I really like the feel of this image. I hate to be parochial about this but placing the man dead center left to right detracts. I tried croping this various ways and almost all versions felt better. The fact that you moved him out of the frame's center suggests you know what I mean. Its still a nice image and the spot lighting and the red hat do work together nicely. Good job. John B
