About 18.03.2006: Demonstration in Kadiköy / Istanbul because of three years of the irak-war-madness (by the way: didn't Mr. Bush tell lies to start this war? Did Mr. Bush say something of Jesus telling him to start the war? Looks like some kind of religious fundamentalism, ok, christian kind of. And why the war? Because he and his friends told us, they would fight against religious fundamentalism?)
These people demonstrating in Istanbul are brave enaugh to laugh theyr "stop all fundamentalism, stop killing you islamic, yewish, christian fundies" intoo the faces of all the Bushs, Saddams and other terrorists in the world. I've got the hope, that people like them will rule the world one day, it will be a better world.

Wish I knew who said this, "What kind of a revolution would it be if there wasn't time to dance."

As far as the reason aka lie,, "weapons of mass destruction". I can't tell you how much I saw that on news before we went there.

One of the first news reports I saw was how we sent the military to guard the oil wells. We left the museums alone, they were looted and artifacts from Iraq's past might never be seen again or they were destroyed. The US didn't guard those places. That told me all about why we went there. Only after the news report came out did we start to guard them.

What I like about this the most is the smiles of all involved. The world could use more of that. That must have been fun and scary to be apart of. I've been to a protest against the war, it feels wild, like maybe you just might changes things for the better.

I have a picture of kind of what you suggested, it's called abandoned.

Thanks Erik

Mark

Very nice shot. It captures the cheerful and optimistic mood of the people. Unfortunatelly, the expression of the guy at the foreground is not that good in comparison to the expression of the other people.
Well done,
Michalis

Well captured journalistic shot. I couldn't agree more on your comment and I share your hopes. Today a demonstration will be held in Brussels.

It is a very nice documentary image .
I think you should put this image as a "photojournalist" section.
