About Our whole thought seems to be ruled by the concept of linearity. What if we discover that i doesn't always apply?

Aha! Gotcha! ;-)

Let there be photomath for the interested.

Indeed the flowers in the group of 3 are (approximately) on a line. But how do we know the distances from one to another? For linearity the coordinate x of each one as a function of their ordinal n should be x=a+b*n, where a and b are arbitrary constants. So, all we know is that they simply lie on a line but that is not necessarily linearity.

The group of two is necessarily in linear progress since Euclides said that two points define a a line.

And the question: What about all five?

Anyway, nice to mix up science and art, since this is the most beautiful wholistic way.

Cheers!

A feast of colours! I like very much the fuzziness and the uniform background colour.
Bravo!

Nick: I don't agree that this picture is the "exception to the rule" since I see two linear arrangements here. Anson

Thank you very much, Anson!

You mean you don't agree to the concept of linearity itself, or you don't agree abou the fact that we use it everywhere?

Nick: I don't think I will agree with that linearity premise. Anyway, I like both lines of flowers here very much. Colors are powerful and the soft focus on the short line draws attention to the long one. Anson
