hi, yes, paintshop pro 8 or 9 is easy to use and costs less than photoshop...unless i am doing a photoart image,i only use for cropping and for adjusting the contrast level to my preference...it is also easy to re-size your images for a high res. copy and for posting on UF based on pixel sizing height/width...you should Google to compare prices,as can probably buy it online for less than your local store...regards,gayle

Thanks Gayle for the comments. No I don't use any kind of editing program. Guess I need to do that. You would suggest paintshop pro?

hi,sorry just now getting back to you,Anne...i wanted to tell you that i,too, shoot film and i take mine to Costco where they transfer directly to a CD...i skip getting prints,so cost is very low...i started out scanning my prints, and they never looked that good here...do you use any PS program to tweak contrast, crop or other adjustments? i use paintshop pro8 and it is very user friendly.
This is a very appealing composition and i,too, just go with my eye and not with any consideration to rule of thirds! It does look noisy probably from the scan? and i think it would be stronger with a contrast tweak...but be proud of your "natural eye"!
regards,gayle

Thank you for your comment. I honestly had not even thought about the rule of thirds. I was at bhe base of the sundial and looked up and saw the point of the sundial against the sky and took some pictures

Hi Anne, almost perfect composition here.

Were you going w/ what looked good to your eye or specifically going on the rule of thirds?

The textures of the sundial work well against the blue sky, and I imagine this would look good in B&W as well,

Chris
