About	Cold rainy days are good for something. While walking the dog I spotted this dragonfly resting on the opened buds of a shagbark hickory, and went back for the camera. I used a gold foil reflector to shed more light on the subject, only minimal tweaking to the exposure and a bit of cropping were required.

Bonus Round!

This is a nice shot Chels. Perhaps just a bit more dof for shots like this. The wings are dead on but the head looks just a bit soft. Darn good nonetheless dear!

Hi Chealsea,

thanks for the comment on my 4 Spot Chaser. These dragonflies are just coming into season, emerging most mornings now. Its a great subject.

This is a fine example of a chaser style dragonfly. Forgive me I don't know the Canadian species.

Its a great image too, nice and sharp. I too use a gold reflector and sometimes a bounced flash to put a little extra warmth into the images.
