About Simple idea and explaination.

2 Frangapannies floated in a blue plastic tub (3 inches deep) out in my backyard. The reason why the flowers aren't positioned further to the right is this was taken as to frame in a square frame, so i left a bit more on the right just incase we needed it. The Scan isn't the greatest, i appoligise about that, cause it doesn't do the shot justice.

Luke: Looks like you have gotten many helpful comments. As a new person to the site you have submitted and excellent composition. Others have suggested ways to sharpen it a bit but I give you great credit for having the vision to put this very lovely photo together. Keep shooting (film that is)

great idea, I think better so.... (my point of view)-just more focus, more contrast and more saturation, and place flowers nearer to the border. Ciao

This is a wonderfully composed and rendered shot, and I actually prefer your softer colors, but it is marred by the appearance of being out of focus... If it is indeed the scan, why not take the time to rescan clearly (at a higher resolution?) in order to do this image justice? It sure would be worth it, as this is a fine image... Also, I don't want to be a smart-a**, but the flower is spelled Frangipani, also known as Plumeria, here in the islands... ;-)... Aloha, GP.

I really like this photo. The colors are great - nice contrast. The flowers are so beautiful that they almost don't even look real.

A little soft--not much I could do with that--added a little depth just the same.
