Thanks for the comments J, glad you liked the sequence. Actually I wasn't in servo mode, perhaps I should have been as it would have been good to get one with the feet just touching the water, but you've sometimes just got to go with what you've got set up or the opportunity will have gone.

Great! You give here a kind of ...film as the 3 photos gives to the watcher the scene of....'landing' of the bird, very nice idea, works well. Also good photos, looks like you use SERVO to focus all the time well at the bird even the distance from the camera being closer.
best regards

Thanks Marcus, yes the pelicans are nice, almost too nice - they are somewhat over photographed.

Hi Bruce, very nice pelican landing scenes, the lighting and detail are very nice, I love the sequence, the aussie pelican is one of the most beautiful in the world and you have captured this perfectly..

I have sharpened the pic of the Pelican using Photoshop if you have Photoshop try this out I made an action called DUSM (Double Un-Sharp Mask)...
Go to filter-sharpen-unsharp mask and put these settings in this order
Amount 20
Radius 30
Threshhold 0
Then
Go to Filter-sharpen-unsharp mask and put these settings in
Amount 300
Radius .3
Threshhold 0
This adds contrast and sharpening.

I have attatched the action I hope you get it.
You can add it to your actions by clicking on the arrow tab in the actions pallette. NB this is for a PC not Mac it may work on a Mac but not sure, if it doesn't then you can try it manually.
Well Icouldn't send action because its not a Jpeg sorry:(

The action would fit in nicely, could even be the same pelican up in Queensland for some winter sun!
