It's beautiful, the snow here takes that azure tone and the sky looks so nice against that azure color, warm parts of clouds always great, and a path on the snow looks like made by snowmobile...adds the 'line of depth and perspective' here, excellent shot!

Congrats on the award. Very well deserved. The image portrays a very desolate landscape, the warm shade of the sun gives this image life. Very good contrast of warm and cool. The path that leads to the "sun" is also well placed.

Hi Glenn. Thanks for the comments on this picture. Yes, Iqaluit is above the tree line on Baffin Island. When my son came home, he said he was going to hug the first tree he saw. Although, he did find the scenery in the North to be incredible.

Darn - must have hit something weird - didn't get to finish my thought before my comment disappeared from the comment section and then reappeared in come comments received section - magic. This is a strikingly simple shot that has great diagonal lines and very attention getting colors. Icy cold looking and has a slightly abstract "flavor". Do agree about the frames - like your second version better than the original and perhaps Hugo's suggestion might be just the thing. Well done. Jan

Hi Mary, beautiful tones in the evening sky; very scerene and barren, yet with a very peaceful feel. Excellent photo. I do agree with Randy about the frame, it could be a bit more subtle. I think going even more simple than the alternative would only emphasise the beauty of the scene, A mere 1 pixel line sampled from the deep blue tones would already suffice. Just a thought.
