A perfect example how colorful the flower could be in B&W. I like this subtle photo.

I have had a few comments about the outer most tulips fading out to much but in my original image it seems fine. must be where I have degraded image by making the jpeg smaller...I shall try and change this.

I think this might have worked better in color, a soft color on the outermost tulips would have given them a glow instead of fading out to nothing. Or, how about a duotone, or sepia look like your thistles -- that might have worked better. I think it just needs a little more definition on the top. I really like the composition.
